Ireland Part I

So you all know that i missed my flight so this is coming into Dublin on the Ferry
Notice the overcloud. its a theme among most of my pictures.

These are pictures from my bus top tour of Belfast.

The Titanic Museum is DEFINITELY one of the best things to see in Belfast. They apparently didn't talk about the Titanic because it was a HUGE national embarassment. But because most the people who were involved in making it have since died, they have made this museum. Its worth seeing.
 GREEN, GREEN, and MORE GREEN!!!!
This is the parliament building called Storm Hill. theres a funny story that goes with it but I can't remember.
Hee hee, Can you see the Moose. Thats right, Canada donated these lampstands on the way up to StormHill and they put mooses on them. :)
CS Lewis trying to get into his wardrobe. He was from N Ireland. And apparently this is supposed to be his actual height. Wee small man he was.
Belfast's Big Ben. Unfortuantely they built it on a swamp so its sinking and leaning to the right.
The largest Celtic cross in Ireland.
Did you know that there are only 3 universities in all of N Ireland (and maybe 2 in Ireland)????  Crazy eh?? This is one of the them and where most of the family went to. Queens University.

Time in London Part III

So after walking around ALL day with a 14.5 kg backpack on my pact and feeling as though I'll be needing knee and hip replacements very soon, I decided to lighten my load and go to the British Museum. But they would only take 9 kgs so because I'm Dutch (read Cheap) I didn't want to pay for a 2nd back so I lugged around my remaining 5.5 kgs in shopping bags.
Wes, this picture is for you. Check out this clock!!!!
Here is the close up blurry version.
Its funny the things that attract one's attention. I couldn't care less about the fine pottery that has been found around the world, or the old copper, tin or whatever the coins were made out of. But this Bog Man I found awesome!!  He was round in a bog and must have died like 500 years ago but is really well perserved. Cool eh??
 Mummies are ALWAYS cool.

I thought that this wood carving was amazing!!  So intriqute. Sorry though you can't really tell.
The Island Dude!

Time in London Part II

I can't remember if I put this guy on my last page, but oh well here he is again. Doing the proud walking. No smiling of course, but they do stomp really well.  Maybe they have to take Irish dancing to teach them. I should have asked.
Still smiling but definitely not as brightly. Down this road was TONS of flags but would you know that every time I tried to take a picture I could never get the flags. Oh well, there's one thats blown down on the top right hand corner.
I like British cars, tee hee.
I didn't go in but I got the picture.
 London Eye
Yup, this is about 4 hrs into my day and beginning to think about throwing my backpack into the river. If it was mine I might have done so.

This might have been Shakespear's house. It was right next to the Shakespear Globe (next picture). I was way too tired to really care about asking so I just took the picture and I say that it is to everyone who asks.

This is the famous 'London Bridge' that should have come down a long time ago (in my opinion) it really is an ugly bridge and it doesn't even go over any water!!!!
This Bridge is the London Tower Bridge and is MUCH prettier!
 London Tower

There were two workers down in the Underground Train and another took a picture and they said 'No Flashes' and then were complaining to eachother about why people would ever want to take pictures of this because it isn't natural or beautiful. So I took out my camera and took 2 pictures. :)

So this is called the Jewel tower
This is me outside the jewel tower having energy because its been only about 20 minutes walking around with my backpack.
 Aahhh, West minister Abbey
I asked a man to help me find the Big Ben and then he told me directions but put in 'You DO know what the Big Ben looks like right??' Of course my pride got hit so I replied 'of course' and then walked away wondering if I really did or not, becuase in truth I did walk by the Big Ben without even seeing it. Ha ha!
Parliament buildings
 On the way to Buckinham
 Ah, the swan and umbrella.

This is a monument to the Cdn soliders who fought in the war. Its supposed to have water flowing down to look like the leaves are floating downwards.

Parental trip to Jolla-Do this past June

Hey kids,

Your parents thought is was about time that we should download some pictures to post on our blog.  It's been awhile since I've done this and your (techno-wizard) Mom isn't around, but I'll give it a try - here goes.......
